Nibbs: Homework Planner ("Nibbs") is made by Vectrix LLC ("we", "us"). Nibbs helps students plan their homework one bite at a time. Nibbs is for students 13 and older in the United States. We don't let anyone under 13 use it.
This policy explains what Nibbs collects, why, who sees it, and how you delete it. It covers the Nibbs app on Android, iPhone and the web. If anything is unclear, ask us in the app under Help, Contact support, or email nibbs-support@googlegroups.com.
What we collect
We only collect what Nibbs needs to plan your homework and keep your account working.
| What | Examples | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Your email address from Google sign-in and an account ID. We don't store your name. | The sign-in you choose |
| Your homework | Classes, assignments, tests, due dates, time estimates, homework times, finished bites, timer logs | You type it in |
| Settings | Break length, notification choices, theme, whether today's plan is locked. These stay on your phone, or in your browser on the web | You set it |
| Age group | Only "13–17" or "18+". We never store your birthday | Your birth month and year, typed once when you first open Trees, or later your phone's app store age check |
| Trees | Trees you plant or join, your display name and forest-creature avatar, join requests, reports and blocks you make, assignments you share or receive, and who you let see your schedule | You, when you use Trees |
| Support tickets | What you write to us, our replies, the ticket topic, plus app version, device type (Android, iPhone or web browser) and OS version | You, when you contact support |
| Notifications | Nothing leaves your phone. Reminders are scheduled on the phone itself | Only if you allow notifications |
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone, or browsing history. We do not use your camera.
On the web, Nibbs doesn't set cookies. The web app keeps your sign-in and settings in your browser's own storage, and your homework in a private database inside your browser. When you sign in with Google, Google may set its own cookies on its own site. We don't read them.
How we use it
- Rank and schedule your homework, and keep your plan in sync across your devices.
- Send the notifications you turned on (today's plan, deadline risk, break's over).
- Let Trees members see what you chose to share, and keep teens and adults in separate Trees.
- Answer your support tickets and fix bugs you report.
- Keep Nibbs safe: act on reports, enforce blocks, and stop abuse.
What we never do:
- We never sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
- We don't build advertising profiles of you. If Nibbs shows ads, they are non-personalized.
- We don't read your homework to train AI models.
- We don't use outside analytics or tracking companies.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the companies that run Nibbs for us, and with people you choose in Trees.
| Who | What they get | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Your account and everything you save in Nibbs | Hosts our database and sign-in, in the United States |
| Sign-in only: Google confirms who you are | Google sign-in | |
| Expo | A random update ID, app version and device type when the app checks for updates, plus the error message if the app fails to start | Delivers app updates |
| GitHub | The text of your support tickets, the topic, and app version, device type and OS version. Never your email or name | Our team reads and answers tickets there, in a private project |
| Trees members | Your display name and avatar. Assignments you choose to share: a copy of the name, class, due date, length and importance of a task you already have. Your schedule only if you allow it: Free/busy shows the times you've locked, Full shows your open assignments. No access by default | You decide in Manage sharing |
These companies can use your data only to provide their service to us. We may also share data if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
Students aged 13 to 17
- Trees are split by age. Teens (13–17) can only join Trees with other teens. Adults (18+) can only join Trees with adults.
- Sharing starts off. A teen's schedule is shared with no one until they change it, and they can switch it back at any time.
- No free typing between users. Trees members can only send preset cheers and reactions. Sharing an assignment copies a task you already have, so there's no message box. Anyone can report or block another member.
- We store an age group, not a birthday. When you first open Trees, you pick your birth month and year. We work out "13–17" or "18+", save only that, and discard the rest. You can set it once. If it's wrong, ask support.
- Under 13 means no Trees. If the month and year you enter show you're under 13, Trees stays closed for that account, even if you try again. If it was a typo, ask support.
- No personalized ads for anyone, teens included.
Parents and guardians can ask us to see or delete their teen's data by emailing nibbs-support@googlegroups.com. We may ask the teen to confirm the request from their own account first.
Your choices
- Delete your account. In Nibbs, go to Settings, Account, Delete my account. This deletes your account and everything in it, and any Trees you planted. It can't be undone. You can also ask us by email. See Delete your account.
- What deleting doesn't reach. Copies of your support tickets in our private support tracker stay until we remove them; ask and we will. Homework saved on another phone or browser stays there until you sign out on it. App settings stay on the device until you uninstall Nibbs or clear your browser data. Assignments someone already accepted from you stay in their plan, because they're now their copy.
- See or get a copy of your data. Make "My school year (PDF)" in Settings for your homework history, or ask us for everything we hold about you.
- Fix your data. Edit anything you typed in the app. For your age group, ask support.
- Control sharing. In Trees, Manage sharing sets who sees your schedule: No access, Free/busy, or Full. You can leave a Tree or block anyone. Blocking someone ends their access to your schedule and clears anything they sent you that's still waiting. Access also ends when you no longer share a Tree.
- Turn off notifications in Settings, Notifications, or in your phone's settings.
We answer requests within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights.
Keeping, protecting and changing this policy
- How long we keep it. As long as your account is open. When you delete your account, it's removed from our database right away.
- Security. Data travels encrypted (HTTPS). Database rules let each person read only their own data, and Trees data only for Trees they belong to. No system is perfect. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we'll tell you.
- Changes. If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app before a big change takes effect.
- Contact. In the app: Help, Contact support. By email: nibbs-support@googlegroups.com.
